Bo Mapper

I'm not sure if anyone else has had this happen but quite often as rebuilding I get the closing dialog with the 15 seconds countdown on the modal mapper dialog, the problem is that sometimes the ok buttion is unclickable or at least does not respond to a click and I then have to then wait for the timeout which sucks.

Not sure if it is something just with my system or what but you would be suprised how annoying it can be to have to wait for the thing to time out. just had it happen a few times and thought I'd mention it.

I have had it happen a number of times, I figured that was just the way it was and therefore the added countdown Smile

It simply wasnt a big enough deal to me to bring up, but yes it happens 2-3 times per day, I am still on 1.6.5

I changed the timeout to 8 seconds the other day...but this will go away when we rewrite the Mapper.  The problem should only happen on VS2008 and it is somewhat hit and miss.  It is more common when having to "check-out" an item from source control.  But we added the timer to prevent a lock-up altogether, which is what previously happened.

The problem is the way the DTE is trying to manage the window....so this is a short term problem, and in the next update I post the timeout will go from 15 seconds to 8 seconds.  But this will change before long anyway.

Thanks Trent,

Glad to know it wasn't just something stupid with my computer and that you are on top of things as usual.

and in the next update I post the timeout will go from 15 seconds to 8 seconds.

Not sure I'm happy with this... I kind of enjoyed having a 15 second rest every now and then. Tongue

LOL....I guess I could make it registry setting and then you could rest for a full hour, Ivan BigGrin

Ivan man, you crack me up... love you man. Come to think of it, that 15 seconds is the easiest part of my day as well.

See...this is a feature...not an issue BigGrin
