Restoring SF Project onto another machine

This is a continuation on from another thread as I have not this resolved. On previous thread, I had copied from my local PC up to a server, and restored all datatabses, Source Projects and the SF database. Everything seemed to restore ok ecept the Business Object Mapper stuff. I manually reset up all the Business Objects to resolve the issue.

I now have copied down all the stuff from the Server to my local PC, and again just cannot get the Business Object Mapper stuff working on my local PC . Initially when it came down, even though all database tables were ok, and had new fields etc , the Buisness Object mapper looked as if it was hanging on to an older version (e.g. New fields I had added on are no longer in the Businee Object Mapper, and it is showing up fields that had been deleted while ago.)

To recap,

I backed up a)My Source  b)My App Database  c)Strataframe database

I then restored a) b) and c) onto my local PC

I must be missing something !!!!

Hi Greg,

I'm going out on a limb a little here, but I seem to recall that the BOM stuff is stored in two .dat files (AppKeys.dat and Connections.dat) located (on my Windows 7 computer) in C:\Users\All Users\MicroFour\ConnectionData\.

Ok . I seem to have this working ok now.

What seemed to be throwing me off was in the selection of the Sql Database Server and default database. After I restored, I went into BO mapper, hightlighted the BO Project and Modify Project Properties (Which I have to do because I am now on a local SqrServer on My Pc)

In here it allows you to change the Sql Server (Which I did ok) and it also displays a Database. In my case , the Database name is KFS , but the default Databse SF was presenting was --> 'KFS Project'. Now I did not look twice at this and assumed it was the correct database. When I go back and change it to KFS, it works fine.

I am not sure where it is getting the 'KFS Project' database name from as there is no datatbase called 'KFS Project' . (I may have had,  at some stage but have checked SQL Server and there is no database currently in there called 'KFS Project')

Just following on from last post... I did not restore AppKeys.dat and Connections.dat , everything seems to be working, but wondering if I need to restore these also when restoring My App to a different server ?
