UnActivation failing

So I specified my email address to log in, and it used the "trial" mode license.

That has expired since the 10th, and now it won't let me unregister -

Suggestions are twofold:

1. Don't let it activate if the license is expired

2. If the license has expired at any point in the past, let it succeed in unregistration. Typical pattern would be to download trial, try it for a while (And yes, possibly buy before trial period over, but should have option to buy after trial period ends)

Jim,

First of all, the software works just as you suggested.  Your problem is that you did not buy any licenses through your account.  All of your license were purchased through Anthony's account.  This is why you get the trial license expired message.  You must provide Anthony's email and password to use one of your purchased licenses.

It fails on trying to unregister though, and won't let me try to register again.

So I show currently as activated, and expires on 10/9 (past date).

Only option is next.

Then get a Deactivate? window (Event ID 1008), asking if I'm sure I want to deactivate all products, I choose yes for this one.

Next comes up with an Activatoin Error!!

So issue is I don't know how to remove the "Bad" activation

Can you take a screen shot and post it so I have a point of reference.  The reason I am a little confused to your dilema is that the new 1.5 version does not use the old license file....at all!  It is a totally new licensing situation to make it much easier for activation.

It was my intention to try the old file, when I tried to register, it had 2 "new" methods, and then an option on the bottom to specify a DLL file (for those w/ no internet connection).

Never made it that far, I had activated using My account (Which doesn't have a purchased license").

Here are screenshots:

Try this.  Open the c:\windows\assembly folder.  There should be a file called MicroFour License.  See if you can manually delete this file.  If not, send an email to sales@strataframe.net with your MAC address and computer name and I will manually send you an activated license to get around this issue this first time and then you will be able to de-activate and re-activate after that.

Assembly Cache Viewer - Uninstall failed

Assembly 'MicroFour License' could not be uninstalled because it is required by other applications.

OK

So looks like the simple delete option has been removed, sending the email now.

You should have received an email with the license file and instructions. Smile

I did recieve the email, but I still can't UNACTIVATE the product

I don't get to specify the file, it still considers it activated!

Even using add/remove programs to remove it didn't work, I tried that.

So looking for how to remove the registration, from the local machine (Issue appears to be that the MAC Address isn't found under my account, to allow the unactivation to occur)

Any ideas on how to remove the activation?

Just drag the license file attached into the GAC without going through the client.  Just drag the MicroFour License.DLL (make sure the name is [MicroFour License.DLL]) into the C:\Windows\Assembly folder.  Get out of Visual Studio and come back in.  You should be activated.
