Evaluation questions (C# sample code & web forms and controls)

Hi:

I started evaluating StrataFrame today to find out what it has (and doesn't have) that MM.NET, my current development framework, doesn't.  Any comparison grids?  I know you started out by using MM.NET, why did you veer away from it?

I really, really like your builders and the overall ease of development.  However, I am sorely missing (?) good samples AND documentation on using C#, which is my preferred language (don't really want to learn vb.net at this point).  Also, I am wondering how rich your web forms and controls gallery is, and will Infragistics web controls work well within your framework.

How stable is this platform?  It is a bit scary to think of starting a huge project with heavy reliance on a third party product.  What are the future immediate and long-term StrataFrame framework development targets?

I am sure I will have more questions as I go through the tutorials etc., but these are pretty important first-flush questions which will determine how far I will go with my evaluation process.

Thanks!

Thank you for your answers, Trent.  Sounds pretty good to me! Satisfied

A few more questions, if I may...  Do you have clear instructions on how to hook up Infragistics controls into your framework?  I assume that once you connect to Strataframe with databinding, the rest of the functionality with the "plumbed" third party controls is pretty straightforward.  Again, web is my focus, I don't see doing much with .NET Windows in the near future...

Too bad about MM.NET...  I have had similar experiences with them.  Heck, some of the first versions didn't even have a prebuilt way to add data to a grid Crazy.  It was pretty CRUDDY (no pun!).  Now they are doing much better, though, at least as far as my own experience has borne out.

Thanks again.  I will continue my StrataFrame explorations...

There is a C# sample for the IBusinessBindable.  Attached is a video that shows how to use this.  One other thing I may mention is there is a third part company that develops training videos for StrataFrame (you can get to them here www.stratatrain.com ).  To get to the source code, click on Start -> MicroFour StrataFrame -> Samples -> C# -> IBusinessBindable Sample.  Hope this helps.

I'm curious as to what Trent's answers were as I am in the process of evaluating MM.Net vs Strataframe.  Please email me if you can't post a reply on the board.

Thanks

I removed the post just so that no one would get any wrong ideas.  If you contact Bob Davis through our sales line, he can give you some information here.  Also, you can email me directly and ask which questions you need answers to.
