Hello,

I am using the trial version of StrataFrame with the Database Deployment Toolkit and after adding a new database profile (it was the first time I tried to enter one), I received the following error.  Even after a reboot, I get the error.

Dynamically populating the ListView failed. Could not create and file the business <Rest of message is cut off)

Here is the stack trace if it helps.

I had both SQL Server 2000 and 2005 installed as per Microsoft's directions for having both reside on the same box but I opted to uninstall both products and reinstall just SQL Server 2005.

Now I have the following configuration:

  • Visual Studio .NET 2005
  • .NET 2.0 Framework
  • SQL Server 2005
  • UI Components such as Infragistics 2005 Vol 3.

I even uninstalled and reinstalled StrataFrame but I am still having no luck.  It seems to have something to do with the first time that I created a profile.

If anyone has any advice or has run across this error, I'd greatly appreciate some help.

Thanks!

Lance

I think that I fixed this (too bad it took 2 days off my trial :heheSmile...

Once I received the error, I closed the error message box, and then went into my Database Connections (File | Database Connections) and deleted my original repository profile.  Apparently there was something in there that it didn't like. Maybe that I used a certain character in my title (":")...?  Who knows but once I blew it away and restarted the application, I was able to view the sample profile and create a new one.

Sorry for the delay, Lance, I'm glad you got it sorted out. That error message is a generic message that the .NET SQL Provider gives you when it cannot find the object on the server, meaning the application is looking at the wrong database for the table, and you're connection string was not setup properly.
