Hi1

Are there any plans to enhance the BOM so that it can create multiple BO's quickly rather than one at a time?

Hi Sarosh.

Do you mean to build the partials all at once? If so, have you tried righ-clicking the project node from the Available Projects and choosing "Rebuild All Partials" ?

Sarosh,

I think your suggestion makes a lot of sense.  The way I develop apps is design the database first, and only after that start coding.  I also use another framework that has implemented the idea you suggest (heck, it can even autopopulate controls from the BO with proper, consistent labels and control names and even label names for you!), and it is at least for me a HUGE time saver.

All frameworks have their different strenghts and weaknesses, of course, so I'm not saying that one is better overall than the other.  This, however, would be a great addition to Strataframe, along with autopopulation, and I'm only bringing it up here because this is the Enhancement Requests forum Cool

Hi!

Yes, I agree it seems logical and will save time.

What framework is that?

Sarosh,

since this is a Strataframe forum, I'd rather not get into what other specific frameworks do.  I just want to bring up ideas from "the outside" for SF architects' consideration.  My objective here is not to promote (or demote) other frameworks, but to simply try to help where I can to keep SF moving forwards and covering features and functionality that have been found to be most helpful outside of this sandbox.

For whatever it is worth here guys....there have actually been discussions around this very topic a number of times before.  There is merit here to all of the ideas that have been presented and we appreciate your input.  Also, we already have plans to include some of these features, such as the ability to tie a designer to a BO which allows you to drag fields onto a form with a label already attached and a particular control type associated with data types.  When this will become a part of the framework I am not sure, but it is on the list as future enhancements.  This may not be included until the next major release of SF.  But we do hear your ideas and appreciate your input.  Thanks for your participation!

Hi Trent,

Is there somewhere a list of new features that may be included in the next major upgrade?

Also, how often are upgrades/updates release?

As you may know, I am new to SF and I am reviewing as many post as I can before posting my enhancement request here, and the one Pertti suggested is already on my list Hehe.

BTW, my regards to Pertti, which is also a VFP developer and member of the Visual ProMatrix community.  I am glad to see some familiar names here.

Whenever we release a new update there is a "What's New" section in the help documentation indicating everything that has been addressed, enhancements, etc.  We post new updates every couple of months usually (sometimes sooner if we find an issue that could effect the masses).  We will be releasing a 1.6.2 update later in the month or worst case the beginning of October which will include some enhancements and bug fixes as well as some new samples.

I just can't wait for this feature
