This time it worked, so I can only guess that I did something wrong in the process of manually editing the references to the earlier devExpress dll's. Next, delete it. Then go back into the solution and rebuild (not just build) your solution. Then go into the project where the error is occuring and perform a Rebuild (not just a build) on it as well.
