I've used the SF web application template and ensured that the assembly references were updated as well as the web config <controls> <add tagPrefix="SFWeb" with appropriate namespace declarations. I'm still getting a 404 (localhost) and have determined that it's the SF web controls that are the culprit; when I remove the associated markup it renders fine.
