How to exclude fields in a BrowseDialog search

Hi all,

Is it possible to specified or exclude the fields to be included in a BrowseDialog?

Since a Browse Dialog is assigned to a BO I believe that it will bring all fields in the BO, how to exclude a couple of fields in the SELECT statement so only the ones needed are used in the SELECT Field1, Field2, Field3, etc.?

How do I step into browse dialog souce?

I'd like to step into the browse dialog source, but I'm not finding a place to put a breakpoint. I would guess I should put a variable break of some kind that says when the controlling routine is browsedialogwindow break but I'm not sure of the syntax. Tried to figure out breaking on the click of the browse button on a maintenanceforntoolstrip.

Rowpopulating is too late. I want to get in before the query is built to look at the loinfo object inside the browsedialogwindow

Thoughts?

DateBox clear value key

I noticed the the F6 key clears the DateBox control and I don't see a property to set that value. What is the best way to set the "delete" key to clear the value?

I am not quite able to determine what the purpose of the following code is:

Since the _Site variable is private, and nothing in the class does anything with it, couldn't we do something like this:

My next question is, what outside of the class uses this property? I may find it as I am working on this...I'll post here as soon as I do.

Does Strataframe have anyway to support Resolution Independence? By that i mean for example, one user have a monitor with 1024X768 and another have 1280X800 (Wide screen). In this case so forms will auto stretch and you will not get words and fields cut off.

beta controls - use them or dont?

I have never put much thought into the "beta" tag on stuff you guys release because you have always pretty much supported beta releases, and in many cases encouraged them. I have also never seen these warning before, of which I now have a few dozen in that pesky 'warnings' tab a rarely check.

Should I use these controls? or not. I see the warning, the English is very plain but .... removing them will be a little bit of a chore so given the past support, I figured I would ask.

Hi Trent,

Is it possible to have a combobox in a BrowseDialog with the following properties:
DropDownStyle = DropDown
AutoCompleteMode = SugestAdppend
AutoCompleteSource = ListItems

The reason I need this is because in my forms I use some comboboxes with the above properties, and it is pretty useful for the end user, but in the Browse Dialog, I have not find a way to setup those properties for any combobox used.

Multitable DataSource in DataGrid using BBS or ?

Hi,
I looking the way to create Grid with multitable content. For example, if dataset contains 2 tables with relation between them, with DevExpress datagrid I can display both tables and expand row of master table to see related records from child table.
This works with DataSet .. but I can't imagine how it works with BusinessObjects and BBS... how to build using BOs this DataSource for the grid.
If you have example, would you be so kind to send it, or maybe any solution for this problem

a PanelManager with 3 pages(Page1,Page2,Page3),each page hav own BuinessObject and MaintenanceFormToolStrip.
it switches. When you click button1, 2 n 3

we required again another ThemedToolStrip2 Contain 4 Button n PanelManager with 4 Pages On Page1 .

All 4 pages hav different-2 own BuinessObject and

MaintenanceFormToolStrip.

Getting Mainform to load in background

Guys,

I hope I explain what I want to do correctly, forgive me if I don't. My app has a login form, and I would like the mainform to be loading in the background whilst the login form is present on the screen. Once a correct login is achieved, then the loading process to continue and display the main form.

My main form is shown immediately after the login form, except it starts to load there and it has a lot going on. I just kind of wondered if you did anything flashy like this in your medical app.

i m using ThemedLinkMenu ,PanelManager,CustomerBusinessObject n CompanyBusinessObject on a Form.

PaneManager Hav Two pages Page1 nPage2.

Page1 Hav MaintenanceFormToolStrip and show.Save.Edit n Delete Customers using CustomerBusinessObject.

Page2 also Hav MaintenanceFormToolStrip and show.Save.Edit n Delete Company using CompanyBusinessObject.

but when i create a new Company it automatic generate new CustomerId in Customers Table.

i set PrimaryBusinessObject property of Form None.

but problem is still

The "MicroFour.StrataFrame.Data.DataBasics.ConvertTypeToDbType(Type TypeToMap)" always returns "AnsiString" type.

Examples:

Using multiple MaintenanceFormToolStrips on the same form

I am trying to use two MaintenanceFormToolStrips on the same form, where I manage a main business object, and its child business object together. I have two listviews, and I would like to use one MaintenanceFormToolStrip for each. However, I have seen that MaintenanceFormToolStrips use the PrimaryBusinessObject of the form. I couldn't find a way to set another business object to it.

Is it possible to use it like that?

Not sure if this is by design but I just noticed a child form dialog doesn't fire the form's BusinessRulesChecked event. I may have missed something but it would have been good if it did to keep it inline with other forms.

Tableless BO Mapping

So, if I want a BO that will be populated via a stored procedure, do I really need to create a view or table just so the BOM has something to map to? I can envision CFPs coming to the rescue, except that seems like a lot of work to do v. setting up a view.

No biggie... just wondering if there's an efficient way to avoid cluttering up the back end.

Subclassing DevEx.TextEdit

I would like to subclass the Microfour.Strataframe.UI.Windows.Forms.DevEx.TextEdit so I don't have to set all the properties each time to get currency box behavior when I drop one on a form (this form will have > 30 ) I will be using this to bind to character fields as well.

I am still a little uncertain as to how masking works in .NET.

I am trying to add a new component, and set the inherits, then set the properties I want in the properties sheet. I get a warning that[b] fProperties[/b] has a the exact property in the base class and should be marked[b] Shadows[/b] but I'm out of my depth on exactly how to set this up.

I'd be open to any alternative suggestions as to how to create the textbox that will behave right to left, 2 decimals, show with normal backcolor when disabled or readonly etc. The DevEx.TextEdit ( part of the DevExpress freebie in the XtraEditors ) might be the easiest to adapt for my purposes but if anyone has built something else they'd like to share I'd certainly like to see it.

Assume others have been down this path before so I'll look forward to suggestions.

Hello!

I'm new to Straframe and need to customize a browse dialog, more specifically the column for DateTime. Currently appears something like dd / mm / yyyy hh: mm: ss and need only to dd / mm / yyyy.
From what I understand, you must use RegEx for this, but I can not find me to do this. What should I do to customize this column?

All suggestions are welcome.

Pass Parameter(s) to Report Sharp Shooter

Following the code from a sample I found on this forum, I have a simple form with a button on it that I click and want it to render my report. Of course I have a BO and BBS. I fill my BO.

The report will render correctly but now I would like to pass a parameter to my report. I know I need to use GetParameter in my report but I am not sure what I need in my form or button click. TIA
