All of the internal code actually looks at the MainView property, but I am pretty sure there are some strong-typings within the code that expect the behavior of a GridView.  So the answer is "No."  You can however do this with a standard DevExpress grid and use the CurrentView or CurrentDataTable property of a BO as the data source.
