I am experiencing a few issues with the password change dialog.  I originally discovered a problem in 1.5 so I thought I would test in 1.6, but while testing I discovered another issue.

I have my 'unique passwords before reuse' setting set to 2.  I created a user and forced password change. On the password change dialog I entered the original password and then entered a new password in the new password and confirm new password text boxes. Changed okay. I then forced another password change. This time I tried using the original password. I then received the message indicating the reuse rule, as expected. I then tried to change the password to another value. This time I receive the message 'The New password cannot be confirmed, please try again.  It doesn't seem to matter what password I use, I cannot change it. I even clicked cancel and reentered the values and still couldn't enter a new password. (One other problem is you cannot exit out of this form)

I then did the same test on version 1.6. When I tried reusing the original password, I didn't receive the 'reuse' message, nothing happened.  However this time I could change the password.

Tim

I upgraded our solution to 1.61 and wanted to let you know I still have the issue.  The 'reuse' message is not appearing when I enter a password that had been previously used within the constraint settings, instead nothing happens on the screen to indicate a problem.  I can proceed if I change the password to another value but nothing tells the user a problem exists. (The broken rule is not displayed), plus the user cannot exit this screen.

Thanks

Tim

Tim,

We have reproduced this and the fix will be in 1.6.2.

Perfect... Do you have an release date for 1.6.2 so I can inform my customers or would it be possible to patch 1.6.1.  I don't mind modifying the source code on my end if it's something minor.

Let me know.

Thanks,

Tim

I can't give you an exact date as of yet.  We have a list of things that we want to get into this update.  Once we have a fix for this I will let you know and we could just let you have those assemblies.
