Tuesday evening, I installed the update to 1.6.6 and I also updated my DevEx to 8.1.6.  Everything builds and works beautifully!  The slickest update, yet!

There is one abnormality that does not affect performance or application functionality.  Within the freshly opened IDE, a form opens in whatever color scheme it feels like.  I use BlackIce as my preferenced theme, but that is not what the form initially opens up to (I attached an example form).  I decided to check my solution preferences, but the preferences window does not open.

How do I solve this minor color scheme (application theme) problem, as well as get the solution preferences window back?

Thanks,
Bill

I guess I am confused.  Your screen shot looks as though you are using the DevExpress controls.  The toolstrip on that form looks to be a standard toolstrip, so it is going to follow the Windows colors.  Then you have a DevExpress EnhancedList or Grid on your form.  So it looks as though your DevExpress themes are taking over (which is what I would expect).

Your solution preferences...you should be able to just open them and set them and click OK for the new theme to take effect.

FWIW, we haven't changed any of this logic in a very long time.  So I do not think that the 1.6.6 build is playing a role here...though I know that as soon as I say that...

Just to followup on this thread...the reinstallation and update of the SF database solved this problem (and several others).  All is well.
