Have you done any testing of SF against SQL Server 2008? Any estimate of when it would be officially supported?

Techincally there should not be anything required in regards to changes.  However, we have not done full regression tests or unit testing against 2008 as of yet.  This is something that we will not do until next quarter.

Should 1.6.6 work with VS2008 SP-1/SQL Server 2008 Express?

When I try to connect I get an error saying this SQL Server version (10.0) it is not supported....

Hi Russel.

Yep, VS 2008 SP1 will be just fine.

Regarding SQL Server 2008, have a look at this post:

Hi Ivan!

Thanks.  I didn't take the time to research it better or I would have found the related post.

I'm just now getting back on track and involved with Strataframe.  It has been really hectic here lately as our company was purchased by a company out of the UK, massive changes and relocations, etc.  Somehow I have survived, at least until now.

We only use SQL 2005 anyway so not having SQL 2008 support is not a big deal.

Anyway, I'm going to really all the posts for the last 4 or 5 months or so and try to refamiliarize myself with all that is going on.

I also plan on attending training again early next year when offered.

By the way, my former boss whom I told you about when we met at training in December 2006 retired and moved to Brazil in April 2008.  He came back to attend his daughters wedding last week and he told me he is selling his house and moving back to Texas as soon as he can sell his house!  Mainly because he is homesick basically.

Thanks.

I'm going to be getting back into Strataframe in a big way because we have to do all new development projects in VS/C#/MS-SQL here at First Group America as it is our standard.  I'm the last/only VFP developer still standing.

I probably would have been let go sometime after the acquisition though if not for all my applications being in VFP and no one knows anything about it!

The writing is on the wall though so I have to get up to speed fast and I already know Strataframe is definitely going to make it easier.
