First, I applaud you guys for so effectively using the forums as a support tool.

However, it is just plain slow and really can take you out of the flow of work waiting on pages to load, searches to complete, etc. Easy solution would be to throw more hardware at it, of course...

Thanks!

Chris,

This is the first that I have heard about this.  Could there be some type of issue, be it a proxy or something else, that is preventing the pages from loading more quickly.  We have quite a bit of hardware and bandwidth already behind this.

Good point. I will try it from home where I am unencumbered by layers of security and let you know.

Just to give my experience down here in the planet.

The forum works extremely fast for me. Not problems at all.

Well, after trying it from home, I still see a good bit of latency, and I don't think it's related to the network. The initial response from the web server comes through but then it waits as the forum software does its work to load the rest of the page. We're not talking about five seconds per load, but it's a good two seconds from clicking on a topic to seeing the topic displayed.

Or maybe I'm just like my mother...she's never satisfied.

I have the same, perhaps two seconds, which I am glad to wait for the morsels of goodness inside

Are you really upset about two seconds?

Not upset, really--just that in the course of searching for a question, I might search for and open up five+ topics to see that I'm not asking something already answered, etc. That delay adds up and interrupts the flow somewhat...I get tempted to jump over and respond to an e-mail while waiting for the page to load, and then I've managed to interrupt myself even further.

Anyway, not a big deal, but faster is always better if there's an easy solution (and sometimes there is). If not, I'm still certainly quite happy with the quality of content on the forums here as well as the overall support picture.
