Hi,

trying to install the latest StrataFrame installation file to a clean Vista pc. The installation stops with the following error:

"The provided SQL Server settings could not authenticate the specified server: COOL"

This is a screenshot of a SQL Server instance running on the pc

And here's the error message

What might be the problem here...?

TIA,
Kari

BigGrin ... Your SQL Server has got the nerves, hasn't it?

I think this is an issue with InstallAware. Do you get a checkbox saying to install it, anyway? If so, just check it and go ahead. If not, the SF guys will help you.

Cheers.

The problem is most likely that SQL Server 2005 Express is not supported by Vista... so, if you're trying to install to the SQL Server Express instance on your machine, then you'll need to upgrade it first to SQL Server Express SP2 which you can download from MS (www.microsoft.com/downloads and search for "sql express sp2").  It's a known bug with SQL Server Express and Vista... however, the SSE SP2 might still be beta, I dunno...

Hi,

Ivan, you were correct. I just ignored the login error and the installation seems to gone ok, at least I could browse at the samples.

Thank you.

Cheers,

Kari

ps. For the record, the server was SQL Server Standard Edition with SP2
