When I try to deactivate SF I get a bad data error. I deactivate it on the web but I've already deactivated a license for another machine and I'd have to wait 10 days to clear this one.

If you look at the bottom you are attempting to activate more or item items.  Change the combo box at the bottom to deactivate and see if you have the same results.

Changing the combox to "Deactivate ..." results in the same error. This system has an older version of SF (1.4) which may be causing the problem. Rather then spend a bunch of time trying to figure out what's wrong can I just e-mail you the computer name and MAC address and let you deactivate it.

Yes....that is your problem.  There have been a large number of changes to the activation process since 1.4.  Just send me an email and I will get you fixed.
