When I try and run the CRM sample (1.6.5) clicking on the products brings up the form but there's no data but on order entry or customers I get an exception...

TargetInvocationException
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.
MissingMethodException
  Method not found: 'Void MicroFour.StrataFrame.UI.Windows.Forms.ChildFormDialog.set_ParentForm(MicroFour.StrataFrame.UI.Windows.Forms.BaseForm)'.

Source     : mscorlib

The database seems to be connected OK to the sample data - any clues?

Thanks

Mike

Mike,

I noticed a small bug in the installation this morning that unchecks the sample database option if VS 2005 is not installed on the machine.  If you went with that accidental default setting then it is possible that the StrataFrameSample database did not get deployed.  First, be sure that the StrataFrameSample database is installed and that it contains records.  That would be the first thing to look at.

One other thing that you may want to do is is open up the source of the solution instead of the demo (Start->All Programs->StrataFrame->Samples->CRM Application Example).

Also, we are created a much more verbose sample application called StrataFlix which will entirely replace this sample as it will contain a much more realistic dataset, form interaction, etc.  We hope to release this sample in April with the new knowledge base.

The sample data is there as other demos work and I can see the data in the server explorer.

Did you happen to read my second post?  We were posting at the same time I think.

I'm running VS2008 on Vista (in admin mode) - the project converted OK. I set the BO mapper up but it still had a red x against the Users table. Opening the order entry form I get errors along the lines of

Could not find type 'SampleCRMApplication.CustomersBO'. Please make sure that the assembly that contains this type is referenced. If this type is a part of your development project, make sure that the project has been successfully built.

We actually do not distribute the BO Mappings for the sample applications, so if you were going to change this you would want to manually create a mapping project and then map to the SQL Server schemas.
