Chaps,

Keep getting this error when I try and de-activate on my laptop.

UnauthorizedAccessException
  Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\MicroFour\StrataFrame\License\MicroFour License.dll' is denied.

Source     : mscorlib

Stack Trace:
   at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)
   at System.IO.File.Delete(String path)
   at MicroFour.Licensing.ActivationClient.UninstallLicenseFile()
   at MicroFour.Licensing.ActivationClient.RequestDeactivation(Boolean isExpired)
   at MicroFour.Licensing.ActivationClient.RequestDeactivation()

Please advise.

thanks

Hi Geoff.

Are you logged as an administrator user?

Also, have you tried turning UAC off?

Yeah, this sounds like a permissions issue.  It cannot delete the license file ( or it is in use).  Check your permissions and if that doesn't get you going let me know and I can manually deactivate your license and you can manually delete the license file.  But I would get to the bottom of the issue versus doing the manual route if I were you just so you have the flexibility in the future.

I had the same issue before i turned uac off, but if you leave it on right click on the visual studio shortcut and click run as administrator and that will give that instance of VS the permision level it needs. At least it worked in my case

Thanks chaps,

Ran the licence activation tool as administrator and the de-activation worked fine.

These issues are all down to the fact that my lappy, wouldn't install Vista SP1 so I had to re-format to get it to work.

thanks again everyone.

Geoff.
