Hi Trent,

I downloaded the SF v1.7.0.6 and could not find any reference to the new ExcelHelper class in MicroFour.StrataFrame.Tools namespace.

FYI in the StrataFrame version form all assemblies are 1.7.0.6

This further confirms my suspicions about your other thread where you indicated that the Cancel was returning OK.  This class I KNOW is in there.  Check to make sure that you don't have old assemblies in the GAC or in your local bin folder.  I am pretty confident that you are still using old assemblies.

Edhy,

I just double checked and this is working just fine.  So it looks like you have some rogue assemblies somewhere.  Also, I went ahead and created a quick sample so you can see how to use it.

Ok, double checking the assemblies I found this:

In the GAC all list version 1.7.0.0, when right clicking each one, all are version 1.7.0.6 except MicroFourStrataFrame.UI.Expanded which is 1.7.0.5 (that may be the problem).

I don't have any other references in the BIN folders for SF assemblies.

Well this is very weird, I downloaded your C# sample and I can access the ExcelHelper class in there, but in VB project I simply don't have it.

Hopefully somebody else can test this in VB and see if the ExcelHelper class is there.

Problem solved on this one. The assembly in the GAC was 1.7.0.5, uninstalling and copying the one from the common folders did the trick on this one.

I should have known better, but it wasn't after I downloaded your sample and it worked, so something must have been messed. Hehe

BTW, nice feature, I tested the Export and it works really fast. Now it would be nice to have the ability to exclude some fields from the BO, is there any hidden trick to do this?

Sure.  It exports the data table, so just make your query include the fields that you want to export instead of including all fields.  Simple solution. Smile

BTW, glad you got it going Smile

Great, thanks. I already have a use for this feature, I was using a library to export some data to CSV, but this approach is much easier and once the file is in Excel customer can export it to CSV.
