I was just wondering if anyone has come across this annoying behavior in VS 2005 code editor window. It happens to me when switching between the code editor and designer and back. Say I switch to code view and begin typing. The editor will replace every other character with a ( or a ). When I try to backspace over it, it won't let me. It seems to happen when I have Grid Control on a form. And the only way to rid this behavior is to close the window and re-open it, but it doesn't last long.

Ooooooh, yeah, have I ever had that Crazy  Most of the problems cleared up after I installed SP1 for VS2005.  And also, most of the problems happened back in the Beta1 and Beta2, with the RTM, I didn't have as many problems.  It comes from VB's desire to format everything for you... like if you leave the () off the end of a method, it will add it for you, and so forth.  I would just recommend installing SP1 and see if that fixes the issue.
