Yeah, you have to have write permissions to the local Documents and Settings (XP) or Users (Vista) folder in order for the config files to be saved.  But it appears that you got it figured out Smile

never mind - i figured it wasn't writing to the connections file.  i ran visual studio as administrator and it worked.  i am using vista.

Database connection wizard always needs configured when starting visual studio.  Are there some settings i need to configure so it doesn't have to be configured each time?
