Hi,

I have installed 1.6.7 today and all seems well but for a problem with population dialogs. When selecting items that are to be displayed in listviews or comboboxes the population dialogs kind of freeze, like there is a model window opened behind them, that you can't get to cancel.

A similar thing also happens with unhandled exception dialogs. THey appear, but I can't move it. VS is kind of operable in the background.

I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced it, I am running Windows with the /3GB clip so I am prepared for it to be a resource issue localized to me.

thanks

Geoff.

I have seen this once or twice over here but it has never been reproducable.  This only started after I loaded SP1 for VS2008 and I think is the same problem that crops up on the BO Mapper from time to time and is why we added that timeout on the partial class status dialog.  I have noticed also, though, that sometimes VS isn't locked up and when I click off and back on the VS task bar item the dialog will appear.  Strange, but at this point I am not sure how to "plug the hole" so to speak since I cannot reproduce it.  The other day, I got out of VS and came back in and life was good...since then no issue.

Hi Trent,

Yes, that sounds exactly like what I am getting.

It's a really odd one but I get all sorts of odd stuff happening and I put it down to the /3GB clip, which I have to do as VS2008 won't compile this project without it.

I will see how it progresses and keep you in the loop.

thanks

Geoff
