I was just wondering if you were planning to include support for WPF applications in your framework, As you know, winforms have not changed since 2005 and I want to begin new applications using something that Microsoft is still developing - we all know what happened to VFP

You can use WPF now with StrataFrame. We do not have a WPF collection at the moment and will not have one until 2010 sometime. WPF for application development is still pretty rough. If you are developing a graphics intensive application, it is great. But you are right in that Microsoft is putting all of their eggs into the WPF basket...but they are still a ways out of gaining application developers as the WPF environment, especially when dealing with a lot of data capturing on a single dialog, is not really very usable.



All that being said, we will have a WPF collection in SF 2.0.

2010 is plenty of time for me I have a client that I wrote an application for in VFP who always wants the lastest and greatest hardware and latest and greatest OS. He knows that eventually the VFP app will have to be re-written, so this is not an immediate need.

And I agree with you that WPF is not ready for prime time....

You are wise to investigate the direction, though! I recently saw an email come across the pipe from Whil up in Wisconsin talking to FoxPro 2.6 developers offering a seminar and class on bringing them into VFP...and my first thought was...WHAT! Why leave one sunken ship for another already totally under the water....but that was just my thought on the subject

As much as I love VFP and the community, I must say that I have to agree with you. When my latest client asked my why I didn't build his new app in VFP, I told him that I felt that it would not be ethical for me to recommend a platform that was only going to be supported until 2014 and that already had major issues with Vista. IMHO, this OS incompatibility issue is only going to get worse with newer versions of Windows
