I replaced my desktop with a laptop and have installed VS-2005 and VS-2008.  I have also installed the Strataframe Framework.

Strataframe shows up in the menu in Visual Studio, but I am unable to use it.  Anytime I attempt to, I get the message "Activatation Required".  I then go through the activation wizard and get the message "Successfully Activated".  Then I restart Visual Studio (I've even tried rebooting) and when I try to use any portion of Strataframe, I get the "Activation Required" error screen, even though it said it was "Successfully Activated" previously. This seems to be an infinite loop that is going nowhere.

I need Strataframe to support this product that was written over a year ago.

Help!

Hi Doug,

Try login to "My Account" and then Deactivate your license, then try to activate again from VS, if that does not work, you may try a manual activation from "My Account".

If you are running Windows Vista, run the Licence Activiation wizard as an Administrator (right click on the menu option and select Run as Administrator).

Also, you may have to run Visual Studio as Administrator if this is a new installation. You only need to do this the first time.

I deactivated all of the licenses I could via the website.  I then went through the same process of activating it, restarting visual studio, and I still get the same message saying it is not activated. (After the message saying it was successfully activated)

Is there some way to manually activate it?

Check the Network Adapter that it shows after you activated Strataframe.  Maybe it is not activated on the correct adapter.

When you activated your license, did you pick a NIC card that is enabled? If you use a NIC adapter that you disable or turn off, then the license file will not be able to properly authenticate when testing it.

I would be more than happy to give you a manual activation if necessary and reset your account for another try also. This is the most common issue. Also, after activation, get all the way out of Visual Studio and then come back in. Sometimes a previous assembly is help in the VS AppDomain which can potentially cause an authentication issue. Let me know if this doesn't work or resolve your issue and we can try some other steps.

Ok,

I've tried using both network adapters identified on my system.  Still no luck.

I have noticed that for some reason, I am unable to fully de-activate my system (computer) from the website.  The computer name is LTHQIT029025, and it still shows 4 activations.  Could this be part of the problem?

I have been re-starting Visual Studio after each attempt.  I've tried both nics identified on my system.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Most likely that is not the issue. However, I will reset any activations that you need. I could not locate your account (under your name at least). Would you please PM or email me the account information and the licenses you need deactivated? Thanks.
