I think there is hardcoding that pre-supposes vs2005 was on that box as well.

Yeah, I've been through that on a Win7 64bit machine. If I remember well, Edhy has also posted something about it and we had to tweak the .bat file a bit to get it working. I bet the guys have this on the list to have a look for a next release.

I installed the most recent release of DevEx and then opened the Inherited UI project to replace the references. When I tried to rebuild the project, I received an error about the AfterBuild.bat file. It was referencing the location of that file within the Inherited UI file folder. It didn't exist there. I copied one from the StrataFrame UI folder. The rebuild worked fine after that. In addition, when I did try to rebuild the first time, I was prompted to save the SLN file. I thought that was a bit odd. Just a quick heads up in case anyone else runs into this.
