Bob forwarded me your email stating that you placed the license file in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\MicroFour\StrataFrame folder.  Technically, that will work, since the MicroFour License Base.dll file (the file that reads the MicroFour License.dll file) just needs to be able to find the license file.  However, just make note that you won't be able to deactivate the product through the activation client, because it will try to remove the DLL from the GAC.  So, when you want to deactivate, just move/delete the file from that folder.

Hmmm.  Took me a while to delete stuff from all of the directories below microfour license.  Some where read-only, directories wouldn't delete all the way, etc.  I finally did it, but then when I tried to activate I got THIS error (this is getting officially old now - I don't want to debug the installation procedures, I just want to use the dang software...):

It's probably giving you this error when you try to deactivate.  Most likely, you're getting the error because you disabled one of your network adapters... for instance, if you activate the product on your wireless network adapter, and then you disable that adapter, the activation client will not be able to locate the MAC address for that adapter, and you will not be able to deactivate. 

If you are not getting this error when you try to deactivate, when are you getting it?

Also, if you have to force the removal of the license DLL, you can try to remove it from your C:\Windows\assembly folder.  If the GAC will not let you remove it that way, you will need to open up a command prompt (cmd.exe) and change your directory to C:\Windows\Assembly\GAC_MSIL.  Once you're there, you can "rmdir -s "MicroFour License"" (without the outside set of quotes).  Then you should be able to reactivate.

So, I bit the bullet and bought the full version.  However, when trying to activate it, I get an error.  What gives?
