Hi Robert,

I've done this many times and it's always worked. Here are the steps I've taken.

Open the SF Infragistics wrapper Solution (c:\Program Files\Micro Four\StrataFrame source Code\MicroFour strataFrame Infragistics wrapper.sln).

In the solution remove all the Infragistics references and add the corresponding updated ones.

Recompile. You shouldn't have to copy any files. There are build events on the compile that should copy the resulting DLLs to the correct locations.

Open your existing project and delete the old Infragictics references and the updated ones from the GAC.

Close your project and VS.

Restart VS, you'll likely be prompted to update the Toolbox (if not click on the SF menu and selecte Create sf Toolbox). Yoo]u should then be good to go.

Not sure if I'm doing this correctly. You are speaking of going into the Refrences part of the project and removing them one by one and then addding them back again, right? Well, it works on some but for most VS either just closes with no warning or I get a window asking if I want to debug this application. I have to restart VS and nothing has changed. This does'nt seem to be working on my system. Does it matter what order you remove them in?

Running XP Media Center SP2 with 4GB Ram on an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E6400 chip. Lots of HD space so I don't think that is the problem either. System is only 6 months old. VS2005 SP2.

I'm dead in the water here until we can resolve this.. I wonder, could you or someone reading this thread be so kind to send me the proper dll's to use just in case mine were not compiled correctly. Of course I am on a bit of a deadline..lol.

Robert

Hmmm. I guess Infragistics 7.1 is not compatiable with Stataframe or I did something wrong building the wrapper?

LOL BigGrin ...yeah, it is compatible, you just have to fix your references.  You will see this again in the future anytime that you change a version of an assembly whether it is yours or a 3rd parties. Anytime you see tons of errors it generally has to do with a reference needing to be updated.  Remove the Infragistics references in the projects that reference them, as well as your recompiled Infragistics Wrapper reference, add them back in.  Get out of VS and come back in to see if the errors go away.

Ok, I recompiled the DLL after changing the references to infragistics 7.1 and it compiled with no errors. Copied the infragistics wrapper dll to the common folder and opened my app and boom. 102 errors.

"Error   17   'Appearance' is ambiguous in the namespace 'Infragistics.Win'."

"Error   19   'UltraToolTipInfo' is ambiguous in the namespace 'Infragistics.Win.UltraWinToolTip'

"Error   23   'UltraToolTipManager' is ambiguous in the namespace 'Infragistics.Win.UltraWinToolTip'."

"Error   24   'ToolTipDisplayStyle' is ambiguous in the namespace 'Infragistics.Win'."

"Error   25   'ToolTipImage' is ambiguous in the namespace 'Infragistics.Win'."

"Error   102   Maximum number of errors has been exceeded."

Hmmm. I guess Infragistics 7.1 is not compatiable with Stataframe or I did something wrong building the wrapper?

Do I need to register the dll with windows? Seems like an internal problem to me. Forms with straight Infragistic 7.1 controls on them, could that be causing the problem? I was using Ultra button and Ultra Tool tip on most of my forms because your wrapper wasn't working. Neither is bound.

We certainly appreciate your wanting to be certain it's ready for prime time Trent. One question, will the wrappers be compiled for Infragistics v 7.x ?

Any idea when 1.6.1 will be released?

We're working on it, and are trying to get it out as soon as possible.  We are just trying to be very thorough before releasing it.

I believe that the framework's Infragistics wrapper is compiled on v6.3 of the Infragistics NetAdvantage suite.  If you need to compile the wrapper for a different version of Infragistics, you can find the instructions on how to do so here:

Hi all. I am using a standard SF form. I have MicroFour Ultra controls in my toolbox version 1.6.0.0. However, when I drag one to my form and drop it it disappears. Any idea what is going on? Have I mis-understood something here? I own the Infragistic toolset and have the current version 7.x installed. Is that conflicting with your toolset?

Robert
