I can't install v1.6 under x64 since I'm getting that Visual Studio is a missing prerequisite. Remember that under x64 Visual Studio is installed on the Program Files (x86) Folder.

I understand how that goes   Yes, it is very frustrating running overall in a 64-bit OS environment.  From driver to speed issues, it just isn't pleasant unless you are running applications that have a massive about of floating point operations and are designed to take advantage of a 64-bit environment.
