The reason that I ask is because I am an independent consultant and I often have to work on my lap top at my client site. So I really need to have the framework instlled on both my laptop and my desktop even though it is only beoing used by one developer and obviously I am not on both machines at the same time (unless I am transfering files.

I opted for #4 long ago and have been happy.

I also suggest a VPN for access to ONE SF database, or it got hairy for me.

Hi Keith,

Good idea, even if not VPN is available, at least hosting at the ISP will take care of that problem, but it does requires Internet access at the customer for the laptop or a WiFi.
